Presentations on supercritical fluid technology in May 2018

I am honored to be speaking at 2 local conferences (BESS2018 and AIChESLS 2018) on the topic of supercritical fluid processing for waste valorization and for particle technology this month.

The theme of the biannual BioEnergy and Biorefinery Conference – Southeast Asia 2018 [16 -18 May 2018] organised by the BioEnergy Society of Singapore (BESS) is Sustainable Production of Molecules. This conference aims to be a platform for forging multi-party collaborations and technology integrations.

I will be presenting on 17th May at the technical talk session VI: Waste treatment and valorization on the topic of “Supercritical fluid processing for waste valorization”. More information of the event can be found at: http://bess.org.sg/events.html

I am also invited speaker at the AIChE Singapore Local Section Annual Conference 2018 which will be held in National University of Singapore (NUS) on 18th May 2018.The SLS Annual Conference will be hosted by the NUS Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (NUS ChBE), in collaboration with the American Institute of Chemical Engineers Singapore Local Section (AIChE SLS). For this conference, I’ll be speaking at Session 7: Particle technology on the topic of “Supercritical fluid processing for particle fabrication and particle processing”. More information of the event can be found at: http://aichesls.chbe.nus.edu.sg/confprog.html and the invited speaker list can be found at: http://aichesls.chbe.nus.edu.sg/invited.html

Lecture by Professor Robert Langer

Really pleased to have to chance to attend a lecture by Professor Robert Langer in Singapore, organized by Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD).

12th International Symposium on Supercritical Fluids (ISSF 2018) and The Avengers: Infinity Wars (Week of 23 April 2018)

This is a very special week indeed. 22-25th April is when the 12th international Symposium on Supercritical Fluids will be held in Antibes, France. Featuring Supercritical Heroes from all over the world, with the common goal in mind to make the world a better place. Meanwhile in a parallel universe, Marvel Superheroes are also busy fighting the infinity war, with the common goal in mind to save the world.

Due to other commitments, I was not able to attend the ISSF2018. However, a Postgraduate student working with me (Mr Soh Soon Hong, new generation Supercriticals) is presenting his findings on supercritical extraction of patchouli in the conference and networking with the other supercritical heroes. I will have to make do with supporting the infinity war for this year and aim to participate in the next International Supercritical Event.

Newcastle University Congregations and NewRIIS Opening (November 2017)

November 2017 was an important and busy month for us at Newcastle University in Singapore with the celebrations of Congregations (Nov 1) and official opening of Newcastle Research & Innovation Institute (Nov 2)

Supergreen 2017

I will be attending the Supergreen 2017 conference http://www.supergreen2017.org/ the 10th International Conference on Supercritical Fluids, held in Nagoya University, Nagoya, Japan during December 1–3, 2017.

I will be giving an oral presentation as well as a poster presentation during the time there. Looking forward to get to know more supercritical heroes there and to learn more supercritical applications there.
